Mobile BIOTechnikum hands-on experience
Welcome to the mobile BIOTechnikum hands-on experience, welcome to the world of biotechnology! The world which you can discover inside is as complex, diversified and surprising as the technology itself. The double decker exhibition vehicle BIOTechnikum is a laboratory, exhibition, multimedia room and dialogue forum. Accompanied by experienced scientists it brings research into biotechnology to schools, universities, trade fairs, events and companies among others on its tour of Germany – and thus directly to the people.
The truck is almost 17 metres long and 4 metres high when it is on the roads of Germany. Indeed how many innovations and how much modern technology are hidden in this mobile hands-on experience will only be fully revealed at its tour stops: with an extended upper floor the exhibition vehicle measures more than 6 metres in height and offers visitors on two levels almost 100 m² of room for the biotechnology experience.
In the same way as research, development and application are stations of a process, BIOTechnikum also presents the key technology to the 21st century: Laboratory and exhibition area form – of course in adherence to the relevant safety aspects – spatially integrated components of the mobile hands-on experience. When carrying out a biotechnological experiment as part of a lab practical for example, you can learn about the various aspects of biotechnology via theme displays at your laboratory work place and compile this information, partly interactively, in the form of exhibits. You can intensify, supplement and discuss the information and impressions you gained here in the upper floor equipped with multimedia equipment. Because no matter who and what range of events the mobile BIOTechnikum hands-on experience opens for – dialogue is the focus.
