Exhibition – Hands-on science
Some want to gain an overview of biotechnology; others want to expand their knowledge in a specific area of research such as health research. Some are looking for exhibits with which they get a better feel for science in the most literal sense of the word, and others prefer to playfully deal with themes using multimedia methods. No matter what the visitors are enthusiastic about and in what way – the exhibition from the initiative ”BIOTechnikum“ offers diverse opportunities.
How do we profit from biotechnological products and procedures in everyday life? How important is technology for Germany? What career opportunities does this sector offer? The mobile BIOTechnikum hands-on experience gives answers to these questions and many more.
Three theme worlds present the uses and benefits of biotechnology and life sciences
Up to 60 individual persons can get to know the key technology of the 21st century on the ground floor of the BIOTechnikum. The focus is the context of research, development and application. How far the visitors delve into biotechnology is up to them, because the exhibition presents its information in stages which build on each other. In this way it offers something interesting and new for a wide public – from school pupils to medium-sized enterprises.
This is achieved by the co-ordinated use of various elements. Theme displays, multimedia terminals and exhibits take the visitor into the world of biotechnology. Here you can experience hands-on science and biotechnology which is fun: with the multimedia educational game ”Bodymover“, with the ”Talking Heads“ or with the presentation ”Life's works of art“.
